A Dynamic Madden 12 money play found in the Baltimore Ravens play book. The QB needs to have some speed to be effective, Michael Vick is preferred to pull off this unstoppable play. Flip this play for Vick but either way is fine.

(A) Wow is he open? every time?! Yes. The TE will give a block as the QB fakes the hand off. TE then sheds block and becomes wide open in the flat. Michael Vick will avoid the sack and complete this simple open pass.

(LB) If by some chance the TE is covered, (LB) runs that sweet cross route across the middle and runs all the way to the sideline. This works if you are under pressure and rolling out. You can hit (LB) over the middle or wait until he gets near the sideline.

(X) Mostly a decoy, but can become wide open across the deep middle against some defenses. Nice deep long throw to make on the run.

(B) A simple go route. (B) is clearing out for (A) and (LB) and allowing space for QB to run. You can always chuck it up to (B) if 1 on 1 coverage.

This is a sweet money play as you can run HB Dive out of this formation to keep the defense honest.

Do not forget the Madden Basics. The I-Form Pro is a great formation with many options to run or pass. This play seems to simple to need to be explained, but every Madden Guru should be able to go back to this play.

(B) The number 1 option on this play, will run a 7 to 13 yard slant. Zone defenses will leave him open for an easy 7 yard pickup. Slightly aim the ball up and a big WR will go up and grab it every time.

(A) A good option against the Man defense as the TE rolls out to the right flat for a quick pass.

(LB) The safe check down out to the RB if you first 2 reads are covered.

(X) This is your number 2 WR and some teams have a capable target for the slant. 1 on 1 Man coverage on the outside can free up WR#2 for a slant. However you may want to hot route to a wheel route. This gives you a deep threat option as well as freeing up more room for the RB to be open in the left flat.

3-4 Over Sting Pinch Zone

SETUP:
1st. Put speed at OLB and LILB
2nd. Pinch line, globally blitz both OLB then spread them. ( all with RS )
3rd. Move LILB behind NT, reblitz NT & LE.

BREAKDOWN:
This play is a great base defense, I suggest mixing it with cover 4 from same formation, just make sure it looks same ( LILB over NT ) Also be sure to mix with the cover 0 man version for the press factor. This defense will bring inside OR usualy on M12 Outside heat, which makes it great vs rollouts and has been known to shutdown the run.

*Legend ( OLB= outside linebacker, ILB= Inside Middle Linebacker, left & right, RS= Right Stick, NT= Nose Tackle, LE= Left End )

Breaking down the routes:

RB: The running back will run out to the flats. If you have a fast running back against a slower LB in Man-to-Man coverage this route will be open with the RCB(right corner back) moving toward the center, you will have large quick gains. If They are in Zone the RB may not be open. If they are blitzing you may want to audible the RB to block.

Y: The Slot Receiver, This is the ultimate blitz killer. Engage Eight and other LB blitzes will leave The Y Slot Receiver wide open. 3rd down and they bring the house, hit the slot for a quick 10 yd gain. Now if the are in Man to Man and you roll out with the QB along with the Y receiver you can hit him for a deep 15-20 yd gain at the sidelines, Many times a LB or 3rd/4th CB are covering this receiver.

B: The Right Receiver your #1 WR, Corner's playing Zone will leave coverage of him as he breaks in across the middle. If they are playing Man-to-Man and your WR is fast or good, wait and let the play develop and throw it to him when he has entered into the Left side of the field. Man-to-Man might not keep up and drop back Zones will not cover. Do not throw blindly however some DE drop back zones and LB Zones may be covering by the time the WR has entered the Left side of the field. If you got the Defense thinking you are going Right, Rollout Left and look for B dragging across towards the left side of the field. Also can audible this receiver to a streak if one on one coverage. Works very well with Spectacular Catch WR and One on One Coverage. If the CB is playing Zone Dark Blue drop back then you can audible to a curl route or hook pattern.

A: The Tight End(TE) Will block at first. Don't forget about him. He will become open in the middle of the field after he blocks for a few seconds. If you are running around and are in trouble, the TE can sneak open in the middle of the field so do not forget about looking at the TE in this play.

X: The Left WR #2 runs an in route, you can keep this route and they might become open over the middle of the field if your rolling right and Y Slot WR is covered. This is a risky pass however so caution when throwing across your body it can be Pick'd Off. Audible to a Streak or Curl route also.

Overview: This is a great formation to run in Madden 12, Shotgun gives you time against the blitz. This is also a great formation to audible the WR Streak or RB Block. Run different plays out of this formation like HB Screen, HB Flats, HB Draw and Delay if the coverage is spread out thinking that you are passing.

Deep Attack can be found in the Shotgun » Trips formation and is in Ravens and other Play Books. This is a good play for 3rd and 10 when you need some yards. It works well verses The Blitz, Man to Man, and Zone Defenses. Learn how your opponent is defending and we will tell you how beat the defense...

The Blitz: You will soon begin to laugh at Engage Eight(All out Blitz) if you don't already do. Hit (A) - the closest slot receiver on the SLANT. Being in Shot Gun you will have time to throw a wide open pass to the slot receiver listed as (A). If the Safety is too close to (A), (Y) will be open just to the left. You can also motion one of the left receivers to the right side and audible into a Slant hot route. That is the best way to beat the blitz. Also if you motion someone to the right and send them on a hot route bomb, they sometimes will be wide open for a bomb. If they are still getting in and sacking you, hot route the RB to stay in and block.

Man to Man: Look for the mismatches and take advantage. You can roll out to the right with the QB and wait for the slot receiver to get open on the slant. As you are looking at him, the middle slot receiver is also coming across the middle. If they are not getting open, you can check down to the RB and toss it out to him on the right. The Left receiver (X) is running a Go route and if he is only getting one on one coverage, take your chance with a bomb now and then.

Zone Defense: When the D is coming out in a Zone and you have room, Deep Attack can be a big play. Roll out to the right and look for (A) or (Y) to find a hole in the Zone. Sit in the pocket and wait for (A) or (Y), toss it out to the RB if he is not covered. Now what about those two outside guys? Don't they have anything to say about this? Yes. Fake the roll out right by coming back into the pocket and or then rolling out left. Look for (X) to get passed the Zone and throw him and bomb. (Cannon QB's work best.) Also while you are on the left side and looking at (X), (B) - your #1 receiver, will be coming across on the Deep Post. Aim high and throw a pass to him. Most times a good #1 receiver will get behind the D and or jump in front to make the huge gain.

XBOX 360 Madden Fumble Challenge Timeout

During Online play, you fumble, the other team gets it. The player then calls timeout right away. When you press start and try and challenge it, the option for challenge play is not available.

This is a cheese play some online players are using to block your ability to challenge a play.

However you can counter this timeout. The very next play run offsides, bump into the other team's linemen whatever get encroachment. After the penalty is given, press start and you will be able to challenge the previous play.

Madden 09 Gameplay Video - NEW Back Track Feature

Thanks to ign.com for the video, Madden 09 has a lot of changes and the Back Track feature is being showed in this video. This will be annoying if you are playing your friends and it keeps coming up, I'm assuming you can just skip it though. However if you are that kid that likes to sit all by himself down in basement playing video games all day then this feature is for you. Back Track is mostly for new gamers but even the most experienced gamer will benefit from the new feature which tells you who was open and when you were suppose to throw the ball.

Vikings' Peterson looks to be top back in 09

Adrian Peterson took the NFL by storm his rookie season and looks to be one of the top Running Backs in the Madden 09 game. After every update last season, Peterson's ratings got better and better. The People took notice and the Vikings' rushing attack became very hard to stop. Peterson joins a solid back in Chester Taylor and the fastest Quarterback in the game, Tavarus Jackson.

Containing the Vikings can be tough but if Adrian is used a lot, he will become tired or possibly injured. Get as many hits on him as you can to wear him down.

Going into the Madden 09 season, Peterson will no doubt be a top 5 Running Back. L.T. is the only other RB with blazing speed, power, and quickness to take any play to the house. There is a possibility he could be on the cover, I think that he should be, he is almost certain to get hurt and continue the curse.

Steelers name new mascot, Steely McBeam

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the name of their new mascot, Steely McBeam. This is the team's 75th anniversary and they may wear the throwback uniforms for 2 games in 2007 as seen on Hines Ward(left).

It's cute. This was not needed and Steeler fans are die hards. They do not need Steely McBeam for anything... maybe the kids I don't know. In the end it's completely harmless and this has absolutely no effect on anything. I seriously thought they already had one of these Steel guys running around.

He is a steel worker that looks nothing like former head coach Bill Cowher.It is clear to me that if Bill Cowher was a cartoon, he'd look something like this. Is this a good move to make a mascot in the likeness of their former coach? This puts the end to the question, will Bill Cowher come back and coach the Pittsburgh Steelers again? NO, because how can he coach and be the mascot at the same time?? I would love to see Bill Cowher and Steely McBeam get in a stare down.

WOMAN SWALLOWS FOOTBALL FIELD

Pittsburgh Steelers signed undrafted free agent Jenny Turdcut out of West Virginia University. Turdcut has won titles in competitive pie-eating, chicken wings, and most recently taking 1st place in the Donut 500 in January 2007. She was a member of the football team for 2 seasons and helped the Musketeers make huge goal line stands in the 4th Quarter. During a spring practice she once sat on another player's head and he suffered some brain damage. New head coach Mike Tomlin is said to be very excited about the teams new Defensive Line boost. "This is a really big addition to the line." The Steelers hope this will solidify their Defensive and bring them back to the SuperBowl. Turdcut was asked to comment on the Steelers chances on winning the SuperBowl. "I once had a super bowl of nachos."
